Makoto Lin
A Taiwanese photographer and artist based in Taipei, who has been devoting himself into art through his photography and unique perspective on the “head of state” of Taiwan to deliver a comprehensive concept of this field, which has only a little attention paid so far.
In 2019, he held his solo exhibition “The President at an in-between Stage“ in Tokyo to realize his idea of world leaders for years through his photographic and artistic expression. His works were conducted with explorations of real and fantasy. His intention of showcasing his dual-aspect concept of a head of state was presented in this exhibition. In this post-truth politics era, it was aiming at inviting audience to engage and create their own characters on the stage and eventually, a new concept of imaging has been set apart from the reality.

林育良
攝影藝術家林育良 (Makoto Lin) 結合新地景主義攝影觀念,探索出獨有的國家場域攝影語彙,將人與事件投注更具全觀藝術性的影像概念,並以「元首攝影」此一具有世界共通性,但卻投入者稀少的特殊攝影文類,樹立了當代攝影書寫。 2019年舉辦東京個展《 写真–記録–劇場 The President at an in-between Stage 》,將多年來執行的領袖攝影計劃,透 過藝術新思維去進行脈絡化的檢視,用虛實的角度,探索「擬像」(註)如何呈現一國之首這雙重概念。在這個後真相政治 (post-truth politics) 的時代裡,讓觀者們自己編寫舞台上的角色,而此時的影像概念已經屬於一種別於真相的現實。
註「擬像」所指在我們的生活中,影像才是真實的存在,而實物卻不再是真實的存在。 尤其在現今的消費為主的「超真實」時代中,每一件物品最要的的東⻄就是一件又一件的 包裝,而這些包裝就是由我們人類所製造出來的「擬像」。 (Jean Baudrillard, 1981)
